The Glencoe Marching Tide is the most visible ensemble at the school. The marching band performs at home football games and regional competitions within the NWAPA circuit. The performance includes a combination of music, expression, movement, dance, choreography, and custom design. The ensemble consists of four prominent sections: woodwinds, brass, percussion, and colorguard. At the forefront of the group are the drum majors who lead and conduct them on the field. The Marching Tide has placed well in competitions and has a track record of success. The band was the 2021 NWAPA Class A Champion and has been a State Finalist for the last 3 years.

The Glencoe Winterguard boasts a longstanding history with success at the regional and national level. In the Fall, this ensemble is the premier visual element of the marching band. The winterguard program at Glencoe is comprised of two ensembles: JV and Varsity. Winter Percussion

2023 WGI Portland Regional PSA Silver Medalists; 2023 NWAPA PSA Silver Medalists

The Winter Percussion ensemble is a natural extension for our percussion players in marching band. It is commonplace for wind players to expand their musical knowledge and pick up mallets or sticks to join the percussion ensemble. This highly skilled group has a record of success within the NWAPA circuit, earning awards for their overall creativity, as well as visual and musical excellence.

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is composed of a dedicated group of students who share a passion for this American-based music idiom. In addition to the most common traditional jazz styles, such as swing, the band performs selections in the styles of rock, latin, and funk. This traditional ensemble of saxophones, brass, and rhythm section exposes students to jazz pedagogical techniques such as improvisation, and a smaller chamber-style of playing. The Jazz Band performs at various venues throughout the year such as assemblies, fundraising and community events, and annual seasonal concerts.

Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the premier concert ensemble at Glencoe High School. The band is auditioned in the spring of the preceding year and is representative of the best instrumental talent in the school. The Wind Ensemble performs challenging repertoire at local festivals, concerts, and at other community events. This ensemble exposes students to advanced pedagogical concepts that prepare them for college-level musicianship. The Wind Ensemble received state qualifying scores from every judge at the 2022 6A District League Festival.

Concert Band

The Concert Band is the intermediate and entry level band at Glencoe High School. This band follows the logical progression from middle school band into high school and serves to instill the fundamentals, musicianship, and technique needed to participate in other various ensembles. The band plays repertoire that highlights specific skills and caters to the ensemble while also being challenging and fun.

Pit Orchestra

The Pit Orchestra is an integral part to Glencoe Musical Theatre. The orchestra is an auditioned group which starts rehearsing in mid-November.
